Samsung is one of the leading manufacturers when it comes to displays, which is why despite their rivalry, Apple relies quite a bit on Samsung to supply some of the exhibit tech that is used in their products. But it looks like OnePlus is hoping to rencontre that status quo in a partnership with BOE.

The visitor spoken on Weibo a “historic moment” in which they will be working on BOE to develop new exhibit technology. The visitor is vague on the details of this partnership, but it is largely believed that this could have something to do with the upcoming OnePlus 12, but we should have increasingly details on the 24th of October where an event will be held in Chongqing, China.

It was reported yesterday that the OnePlus 12 could come with an insanely unexceptionable exhibit that could go up to 3,000 nits in peak brightness. This would trump devices like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which last we heard, could have a exhibit with a peak splendor of 2,500 nits.

At the moment, the recently-announced OnePlus Open foldable phone has the unshortened market write-up with its display, where the visitor claims it can go up to 2,800 nits in peak brightness, so if the rumors of the OnePlus 12 are true, it could end up stuff plane brighter than that.

One of the benefits of having super unexceptionable displays is that it makes things easier to see under uncontrived sunlight. While one could oppose that a brighter exhibit could potentially be increasingly battery-draining, having a wider range will at least requite users increasingly options and control. The OnePlus 12 is rumored to launch in China this December, making it one of the first phones in the world to pack the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and is expected to follow up with a global launch in early 2024.
